Black LCD Screen upon startup I think I have a problem with the LCD Inverter on my laptop

When I start up my laptop the LCD screen goes black but I can tell the computer is still running. When I press on the little button/switch the lid presses on when it closes, the desktop briefly lights up.I watched a video out at youtube by a channel called sparepartworld which leads me to believe the problem is with the LCD Inverter. After getting a new LCD Inverter I tried to replace the old one in my laptop but I can't quite get the front bezel off. My laptop is a little different than the one in the video.Could someone out there give some instructions on how to replace an LCD Inverter on a gateway laptop model 4026GZ running Win XP home edition? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
