      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

PLEASE READ - Reversing upgrade   02/23/2017

We have found that this new upgrade is somewhat of a disaster.  We are finding lots of glitches in being able to post and administer the forum.  Additionally, there are new costs associated with the upgrade that we simply cannot afford.  As a result, we have decided to reverse course and go back to the previous version of our software.  Since this will involve restoring it from a backup, we will lose posts that have been added since January 30 or possibly even some before that.    If you started a topic during that time, we urge you to make backups of your posts and you will need to start the topics over again after the change.  You can simply paste the copies of your posts that you created at that point.    If you joined the forum this month, you will need to re-register since your membership will be lost along with the posts.  Since you have a concealed password, we cannot simply restore your membership for you.   We are going to backup as much as we can so that it will reduce inconvenience for our members.  Unfortunately we cannot back everything up since much will be incompatible with the old version of our software.  We apologize for the confusion and regret the need to do this even though it is not viable to continue with this version of the software.   We plan to begin the process tomorrow evening and, if it goes smoothly, we shouldn't be offline for very long.  However, since we have not done this before, we are not sure how smoothly it will go.  We ask your patience as we proceed.   EDIT: I have asked our hosting service to do the restore at 9 PM Central time and it looks like it will go forward at that time.  Please prepare whatever you need to prepare so that we can restore your topics when the forum is stable again.

  1. Thanks muriel. British Museums is fake, I found mine, deep, in Egypt, where no man sane would go. There was an old woman there.. she spoke a foreign tongue. I can hear it now, "Statue of liberty 5 dollars, rosetta stone key chain 6 dollar please"
  2. WHOOOO gj
  3. ^^ 8) good job!!! whooooot for smcKillop :x
  4. Whoot for SCOFF! Aribbaaa
  5. Hey hey hey, firefly in the Helper House
  6. Woohoo! Hi-five uros , good job and thanks for being patient with me, it took me a while to figure out what was going on! Oh and heres one more thing to remove in hjt: R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = Here's my canned speech for malware prevention: For keeping your computer clean, here are my reccomendations: SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from ever being installed. http://www.wilderssecurity.com/spywareblaster.html IE-SPYAD puts over 4000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all. http://www.staff.uiuc.edu/~ehowes/resource.htm#IESPYAD Both of them are very small free programs that you run once, and then just occasionally to check for updates. I also recommend running Adaware and Spybot S&D regularly (once every week or so) and remember to update them before you scan with them. And see TonyKlein's good advice, how did I get infected in the first place: http://forums.net-integration.net/index.php?showtopic=3051 Best wishes and good job! Theo
  7. Hi, Try turning off ad-watch, then updating CWShredder (it's okay if it doesnt update, I know you've been having problems with it). Now update/run Ad-aware, Spybot, and CWShredder. Get rid of anything they find. After that, run Hijack This and fix these entries (if present): R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\WINNT\system32\bichfaa.dll/sp.html (obfuscated) R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINNT\system32\bichfaa.dll/sp.html (obfuscated) R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\WINNT\system32\pahdkna.dll/sp.html (obfuscated) R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINNT\system32\pahdkna.dll/sp.html (obfuscated) I think Ad-watch wasn't letting you, because it's used to stop hijackers from taking over, so when you try to get rid of about blank, it thinks that about blank is normal, and doesn't allow you. If this still doesn't work, I'll ask some of the higher up experts to take a look. After all of that, reboot, and post a new HJT log.
  8. Hmm, somethings weird, do this step again: You need to download dllfix, to do so, download this zip. http://downloads.subratam.org/dllfix.exe Please unzip it to a new folder (just like you did with Hijack This.) It will not work if you run it from inside the zip. Navigate to the new folder and open it. Double click on the start.bat. A dos window will open. Please select option 1 for explorer dll's by typing 1 and then pressing enter. Notepad will open with a log in it. Please copy and paste the log into this thread. The .dll should've gotten rid of in the second set of instructions, but lets do it over. Wishes, Theo
  9. Hi, Alright, weird that cwshredder is not responding, instead try this: Please download the following programs and follow the instructions: Spybot Search&Destroy http://computercops.biz/downloads-file-108.html After installing Spybot S&D, update it by using the "Update" button on the left panel of the program. Search for updates and download anything it finds. Ad-Aware: http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/ After installing AAW, and before running the program, update reference files by using the bottom right button in the program, labeled "Check for Updates." Launch the program, and click on the Gear at the top of the start screen. Click the "Scanning" button. Under Drives & Folders, select "Scan within Archives". Click "Click here to select Drives + folders" and select your installed hard drives. Under Memory & Registry, select all options. Click the "Advanced" button. Under "Log-file detail", select all options. Click the "Tweaks" button. Under "Scanning Engine", select the following: "Include additional Ad-aware settings in logfile" and "Unload recognized processes during scanning." Under "Cleaning Engine", select the following: "Let Windows remove files in use after reboot." Click on 'Proceed' to save these Preferences. Please make sure that you activate IN-DEPTH scanning before you proceed Now run both programs, and get rid of anything that they find. Also run CWShredder, even though it's not updated, just to see if it can clear anything (open it up and click Fix) After that, reboot, and post a new HJT log. By the way, did you do the dll fix? Was it successful?
  10. Hi again, and no problem, I enjoy helping you . First, make sure you have Show Hidden Files and Folders on. This can be done by going to Start>open My Computer> Open the "Tools" drag menu in the top left> Folder Options> View tab>bubble "Show Hidden Files and Folders"> unbubble "Hide Protected Operating System Files." Next, open the DLLFIX folder and double click on start.bat. At the main menu, press '2' (Run Fix) and enter. At the second menu, press '1' (Enter DLL Name Manually) and enter. At the prompt, enter: MS.DLL Your system will reboot in 15 seconds and begin the fix. When finished, there will be a log (log.txt) in the dllfix folder. Paste it into your next reply. Also, please download CWShredder http://computercops.biz/downloads-file-349.html Once downloaded, open it, click the "update" button at bottom, download all updates. After that, click the "Fix" button. After you did all of the above, run Hijack This again and post a new log.

  12. Wait.... Helpership.. bag of chips... for just the price of my soul? This can't be real! Wheres the catch?
  13. Ah yes, me and my tasteless humor . Anyway, yes that was a joke. I thought that was in the helper forum? O_O was it moved or something? Edit: Actually, no Mad Max, that rumor is completely unjustified- there is no such thing. Although, using the Rosetta stone helps.... a lot....
  14. Yay ^^. Thank's a lot guys. Especially Budfred, CNM, and all of the bosses around here - It took a lot of correction, a lot of answering my flood of questions in the newbie forum and more. Trust me Helper Trainees. If I can do it, you can do it in half the time
  15. Some programs have conflicts, as you might've seen when you've started up Spybot S&D when you had adaware on your system, anything that Spybot makes backups of might be detected by adaware as a threat. This may very well be a conflict, but you might wanna run HJT and look at your log just in case . I have a lot of Anti Spyware programs downloaded, including things like CWShredder and Peper uninstaller. I try and learn how programs work before I advise other people how to use them
