Hi all,
i have just recently bought a laptop with windows vista installed. I am looking to get AVG installed onto it
but vista won't let me. when i go to save the exe file it won't allow me. is there a way around this? Also Is it risky going online with no antivirus on my machine considering Vista security centre (with windows defender) is up and running?
any advice please

What do you mean by Vista won't let you install the antivirus? I think you are talking about UAC (User Account Control), which is an additional security measure in Vista. When you double click on the anti-virus installer executable file, if Vista is asking something like "A program needs your permission to continue", click on "Allow it" or "Yes, I trust this program" or whatever. I would not suggest you to go online without an anti-virus, especially if you are using Internet explorer to browse through the internet. Windows defender won't help you. Get yourself an anti-virus. I would suggest you Avast antivirus, which is free and works fine. Follow the URL given below to know more about Avast.
