I am running Windows XP Pro with SP2
I use the Windows firewall, and NOD32 is my virus software.
Windows and NOD32 updates are installed automatically and are up to date.
My browser is Firefox V2.0

I seem to have a problem with Adware.virtumonde, Winlogin.exe and a file called byxvsrq.dll
The problem is being reported by my copy of NOD32 virus software as follows:

AMON File System Monitor
Threat detected
File: C:\Windows\System32\byxvsrq.dll
Threat: Win32/adware.virtumonde application
Comment: The file can be deleted...... Event occured at an attempt to access the file by the application \??\C:\Windows\System32\Winlogon.exe

When attempting to delete the file, I am advised that the file will be deleted after the next restart.
However the file never gets deleted.

My system seems to be dying a slow death! :weep:

Your assistance would be very much appreciated! :D

Having now read the FAQ, here is the HJT log report! :D

Hi,

Sorry you’ve had to wait for a few days but all of the helpers here are volunteers and we’ve been really busy recently.

If you still need help, please post a fresh HijackThis log into this thread so I can make sure nothing has changed and I will be happy to review it for you.
