hi there, i'm new on this forum, and i thought i would post here since there seem to be a lot of peoples wanting to help others in need of a solution for spywares/malwares/trojans.

yesterday i was getting some viruses warnings from Antivir, i quarantined all the files detected, i've done researches on Google about the files and processes running in background (ctrl-alt-del in WinXP).

i have Antivir installed, as well ad Spybot, Ad-Aware, SpywareBlaster, AVG Anti-Spyware, all the latest Windows XP SP2 patches installed.

ok...i scanned with HouseCall yesterday, it found some viruses/trojans/malwares, i chose to remove/delete those in the HouseCall choices at the end.

then i've done a complete Spybot scan, and Ad-Aware full scan, then later a Smartscan.

then i closed the computer for the night...and when i woke up, when i turned on the computer, i decided to do another HouseCall full computer scan, 3 hours later, it says that my computer is ok (no virus/trojan detected).

so i played a few games (FatalFake, Live for Speed demo...), games i know they don't install anything at all while you play.

computer seem to be ok for a long time, no virus warning coming from Antivir.

then later i decided to play a game that i patched with a NoCD crack, provided from Gamecopyworld (they say their cracks don't have any virus/trojan, and that if i get a warning about KeyLogger or something, it's a false alarm and not a virus). Well, i played this game for a while, and then i quit the game, after a while, when i was watching TV in the living room, i hear Antivir's chime (virus warning).

can it be caused by the patch "releasing" a trojan/malware/virus upon leaving the game?

by the way, i have the game's original disc (called Xpand Rally), it came bundled with my Asus video card. (as GameCopyWorld says, they provide these cracks/patches for those who bought the original game)

the latest detection of the "trojan" by Antivir is called "TR/Crypt.FSPM.Gen" found in "C:\System Volume Information\_restore{9AB42FE9-5659-4481-95E8-4F6AF518DB91}\RP112\A0021752.exe"

scanning with AVG Anti-Spyware, excluding the tracking cookies, it found "Trojan.Silk", "Backdoor.Hupigon.hk", "Trojan.Flood.ex" and Trojan.Zapchast.gf"

if this game and/or patch is problematic, i'll just delete that game and play something else.

another question: do i have to disable "hide system-protected files and folders" so HouseCall (and other spyware/malware/antiviruses softwares) will be able to see and scan these files and folders?

i need advices please.

thanks!

Hi,

Sorry you’ve had to wait for a few days but all of the helpers here are volunteers and we’ve been really busy recently.

If you still need help, please post a fresh HijackThis log into this thread so I can make sure nothing has changed and I will be happy to review it for you.

:)
