      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

Thanks in advance for any help. I have read FAQ and have attempted new version Spybot and Ad-Aware multiple times to resolve this problem. I also have newest updates from windows. I assume it will be cake for resident ninjas here from the threads I have read.

I have 4-5 recurrent pop-ups/spontaneous full-sized webpage openings. When I run Ad-Aware, it shows nothing, but Spybot indicates the following problems:

Gigatech SuperBar 2 entries

DSO Exploit 5 entries

IGetNet 2 entries

I can "fix" the DSO Exploit problem, but it re-appears upon the next scan. Spybot states that, "the others could not be fixed:reason could be that the associated files are still in use (in memory). This could be fixed after re-start"

When I re-start as requested and run Spybot again, the exact same scenario unfolds.

I am not sure that these Spybot-detected problems specifically are causing the pop-ups, so I posted my HijackThis logfile. Any red flags here? Any other problems evident from the log while I am at it?

Thanks again.

Have Hijack This fix all of the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and hitting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Multimedia Codecs] C:\WINNT\System32\mcc.exe

Reboot and delete the file C:\WINNT\System32\mcc.exe

These may be hidden files. See HERE for how to show hidden files.

If you have installed all the updates for Windows, and Internet Explorer, the DSO expliot warning from Spybot may be due to a bug in Spybot itself.

Please post a followup Hijack this log, and say if your problems persist.

Thanks for the quick reply dave38. That seems to have stopped the problem.

I am dedicating myself to learning more about the proper use of hijackthis. I have read the tutorial provided here and was working at it last night. No time like the present to comb through every corner of my machine.
