I have a problem with my PC as a result of some sort of Trojan - when I open my homepage it goes to an res:\\ type search page. I read the post that says This Works and went in and deleted the noted file in the registry but for some reason this did not fix my problem.

I downloaded AboutBuster and put a link on my desktop. Then I went into safe mode and cleaned the HJT log - cleaned all the temp files ran Spybot and it removed some of the files - then I ran Adaware and whe it got close to the end of the run it said tht I had some Windows files that needed to be replaced for the machine to remain stable - it waid insert your Windows XP disk now - I did that but it didn't seem to do anything.

I then ran AboutBuster and it removed a long list of files but then an error message came up:

Run Time Error '75'
Path/File Access Error

here is the latest HJT log

:bounce: Hey guys I ran Aboutbuster and it cleaned a lot of stuff but it could not remove the following file and neither could HijackThis:

C:\WINDOWS\d3dh32.exe

I booted into Safe Mode and manually deleted that file and the problem is gone - I was getting the about.blank home page everytime I opened IE and it was taking me to a res:// random site with all kinds of crazy dll files.

My PC is now working great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
