I finally found out how to remove Home Search Assistent from the add/remove programs.

1. Run services.msc and stop and disable the local service, Network Security Service.

2. Run regedit.exe look under HKEY-LOCAL-MACHINE/SOFTWARE/microsoft/windows/currentversion/uninstall

3. Delete folders HSA, SE, and SW.

4. Reboot

5. Check add/remove programs to make sure it is gone.

Let me know if this worked for you.

Using WinXP, services.msc does not produce "Network Security Service".
Therefore HSA just keeps respawning under a new name ....
On the Services window, I can see :
Network Connections
Network DDE
Network DDE DSDM
Network Location Awareness
Network Provisioning Service

(and lots of other services, without the word "Network" in them)

Any idea which one to kill ?? Thanks ....
