      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

res://jvbgb.dll/index.html#96676 and Home Search

4 posts in this topic

Hi, I got hijacked by a porn site and now my homepage has been hijacked to the "home search" site, and i have a nasty pop up ad campain going. Plus they keep reminding me that i have spyware on my machine. I also get an alternative search pulled up when ever I use google. It sounds a lot like the Cool Web Search Virus, but the CWS does not pick it up. I have tried everything in the FAQ, run SpyBot four times, run Norton Antivirus and also followed other advice (which led me to delete some real windows files, as such I'm having problems with XP). The website that I get hijacked to is:

res://jvbgb.dll/index.html#96676

Thanks for any help!

Well done, amberneko. :D

We recommend fixing these, as the Red Sheriff tracking stuff is thought to be involved in it:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...rch/search.html

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...rch/search.html

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...//www.yahoo.com

Fixing those will not affect any of your other Yahoo functions. Tick the boxes next to those, then click Fix Checked.

Also, I see msconfig running as a startup, which means you probably have some startups disabled. A better solution would be to set msconfig for Normal Boot, then fix the corresponding O4 entries which will show up in HijackThis. Otherwise msconfig will consume some time and resources on every boot.
