Hello folks,

New poster here. I am working on a machine that was eaten up with Spyware/Adware/Viruses. It "appears" to be clean now, but it still is not working. Symptoms:

In safe mode, I can get online and browse. In normal mode, I cannot. I can ping names and IPs, but when I try to browse to a page it gives the "Internet Explorer could not open the search page" box.

Here is what I have tried so far:

Many virus/spyware/adware scans.

Winsock fix, uninstall and reinstall of IE (It has IE6 on it right now), I have tried IE7, with no luck.
Disabled all add-ons and objects. Uninstalled and reinstalled network card.

Repair install of XP Home.

System currently has XP SP2 on it. No updates past that are installed (it is not up to date).

I can provide Hijackthis and combofix logs if needed.

Thank you,
