      IE 11 copy/paste problem

      It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

hello

i had similar entries in my hijackthis log and i think i've successfully removed smartsearch

these 3 entries have to do with smartsearch

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://69.31.79.180/search.php

O1 - Hosts: 213.159.117.235 auto.search.msn.com

O18 - Protocol hijack: about - {53B95211-7D77-11D2-9F81-00104B107C96}

...these entries differs from my log

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [hNY1] C:\documents and settings\owner\local settings\temp\hNY1.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [4s5U34j] dmcagp.exe

search these files on your harddisk and decide if they should be there

...back to my remove procedure

- start your pc in safe mode

- run hijackthis

- search in the registry for 53B95211-7D77-11D2-9F81-00104B107C96 previously found via hijackthis

- there should be the key hklm\software\classes\clsid\{53B95211-7D77-11D2-9F81-00104B107C96}

under InProcServer32 should be a value with c:\windows\system32\msxword.dll

- remove the 3 entries (R1, O1, O18) with hijackthis

- remove the file metioned in the registry (in my case c:\windows\system32\msxword.dll)

- then search in the registry the value previously found vie hijackthis (53B95211-7D77-11D2-9F81-00104B107C96) and delete alle entries with this value

reboot and it should be gone
