You have a CoolWebSearch infection - down load CWShredder from http://www.spywarein.../CWShredder.exe

If you already have CWShredder then click Check for update since an update has just been released.

Install it into its own folder and run it, fixing what it finds. Reboot your computer.

Run another HijackThis scan and mark all of these items that are still there for removal:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://69.31.79.101/search.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://69.31.79.101/search.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://69.31.79.101/search.html
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://69.31.79.101/index.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://69.31.79.101/search.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://69.31.79.101/search.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = http://69.31.79.101/search.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://69.31.79.101/search.html
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://69.31.79.101/index.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://69.31.79.101/search.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://69.31.79.101/search.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://69.31.79.101/search.html
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = http://69.31.79.101/search.html
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://69.31.79.101/search.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,Search = http://69.31.79.101/search.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,Search = http://69.31.79.101/search.html

These items are considered to be resource hogs that may not be needed to run at startup and it may be worthwhile to fix them with HJT. You will still be able to start them manually if you need them:

O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Find Fast.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\FINDFAST.EXE

O4 - Global Startup: Office Startup.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA.EXE
[/b]

If an Administrator has not set a policy restricting access to Internet Explorer settings and you have not configured any software such as Spybot SD to prevent changing Internet Explorer settings, than you can also check these:

O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

O6 - HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

Make sure all browser and Windows Explorer windows are closed, and click on Fix Checked.

Reboot, run another HJT scan, and post it here for further review.

The CWS infection is still present. The domain 69.31.79.101 is on the CWShredder list so it should have killed it.

However, there is a virus signature present for PE_BAGLE.N - it might have affected CWShredder's effectiveness. Your Symantec AV should be effective against this virus, so make sure it's properly updated and rescan your system.

Alternately, both the Panda Software and Trend Micro online AV scanners linked in my Signature should eliminate it. If you use any online virus scanners, be sure to temporarily disable your Symantec AV so they don't conflict with one another.

After doing the AV cleaning, run a new HJT scan and post a new log. Once you're clean from the virus, we'll attack the CWS infection again.
