      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

Please help me delete about:blank

I have the about:blank virus. I am not a computer expert and would truly appreciate help on getting rid of this. I see that others have had this problem and I understand I need to start my own thread to get help myself. Can anyone give me instructions on what to do? Thanks.

Hi, Jeremy34

Create a new folder in your C: Drive

Name it C:\HJT or HijackThis. Do not use your Desktop or any TEMP folder to run this tool.

Get the new Version 1.98 of HijackThis.

http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip

Download the program in the folder.

Close all open windows and browsers and run the .exe file.

Copy and paste the new log file to this thread.

OPTIONAL ITEMS

You have PowerReg Scheduler in your log. This is a registration reminder that is used by

a number of different companies. It is not needed and some people think that it reports

back to the company about your computer, so I suggest fixing it. You have been warned.

2 - When the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, select an option, and then press ENTER.

3 - When the Boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe Mode" appear in blue at the bottom, select the installation that you want to start, and then press ENTER.

Delete the files listed in BOLD if still present.

Thank you nasdaq. I followed your instructions. Most of the items you said to remove via HijackThis (e.g., R1, R0, O18, etc) were not there when I ran Hijack This this last time. But I did remove 2 or 3 that WERE there. Here's the latest HijackThis scan log. Please note that there IS another "O2 BHO (no name)" line here, but it is not the one you asked me to delete. Not sure if it's supposed to be there or not... Thanks again.

Yes you can also delete that 02 Item.

I believe it's a broken key left over by MS Money. Should be no problem.

If you decide to remove it.

Close all open windows and browsers then run the HighjackThis.

Click on the Scan button

Put a check beside the 02 entry

Click on the "Fix Checked" button

Close HJT.

In 2 or 3 days you can again run HighjackThis and if the key returns you may have some hidden process. Which I doubt.

Then, get back to this thread and post a new log.

Behond that the log looks good.
