Can you also check for the presence of any of these files:

Hi rrsl99,

I'll give you one example. That may be easiest.

Doubleclick "My Computer"
Doubleclick C: drive
Doubleclick System32 folder
Find stcloader.exe and rightclick it. Choose delete.

Pieter

You should have placed HijackThis in a folder of it's own.

Create one now and put hijackthis.exe in it along with the backups. There are going to be more since you picked up some more cr@p.

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://ms101.mysearc...sa/srchlft.html

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://ms101.mysearc...sa/srchlft.html

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://ms101.mysearc...sa/srchlft.html

O2 - BHO: My Search BHO - {014DA6C1-189F-421a-88CD-07CFE51CFF10} - C:\Program Files\MySearch\bar\1.bin\S4BAR.DLL

O3 - Toolbar: My &Search Bar - {014DA6C9-189F-421a-88CD-07CFE51CFF10} - C:\Program Files\MySearch\bar\1.bin\S4BAR.DLL

O16 - DPF: {00000EF1-0786-4633-87C6-1AA7A44296DA} - http://www.netpaloff...s/DMO1/ON01.cab

O16 - DPF: {9522B3FB-7A2B-4646-8AF6-36E7F593073C} (cpbrkpie Control) - http://a19.g.akamai....21/cpbrkpie.cab

Then reboot into safe mode and delete:
C:\Program Files\MySearch <= entire folder

Pieter

Do you have a spyware magnet in there or just extremely bad taste in software?

In Add/Remove Software uninstall New.Net aka NewDotNet (Domains)

Then follow the link in my signature and get some protection.

Backups are made in case something usefull was removed. Hold on to them for a week or so. Then you can delete them.
