      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

cws victim, plz help..the usual

4 posts in this topic

Well, I'm sure you guys are getting this a lot lately...but here goes...

I noticed a change in my home page 2 nights ago. I thought, ad-aware will certainly cure this cause ad aware is awesome and everyone loves it.... wrong. After having experiences with Ad-aware, a squared, McAfee, and cwshredder/hijack this, safe modes, and restore points, I can safely say I'm vexed, or baffled. I'm pretty sure I have one of the many CWS variants, but I don't know which and I don't want to commit to another person solution because of this.

I think this is the homepage I am being refavorited too(i made that word up)

aka : res://<random>.dll/<random>.html#<random>

The only thing that has kept me from reformatting already, is all the dedication I see on this site. You guys really are awesome, even if I become another statistic

Zachism, the lastest version of Ad-Aware should solve your problem. Ad-Aware released a update not long ago that should remove the malware completely from your computer. So i advise you to download the lastest version of Ad-Adware and fully update it. Then restart in safe mode and run Ad-Aware.

This is only a temporary fix, you should download all IE updates from the Windows Update Site

Hope it helps Zachism

Jack

I've already tried this :(, it doesn't work, and as far as I know, I have all of my updates. I already deleted umm java vm??? i think. And I always keep ad aware up to date. It does remove most of my stuff, but it always seems to come back...?

You can close this thread, I found my own solution and fixed my machine. BTW, I have the bad .dll and .exe on a floppy disk. If any of you know anyone or any group that might be interested in having them to "examine", I could probably upload somehwere safely.

btw, netiv.dll and msyg32.exe were my problem files...
