Hi there!

I'm a newbie with a *huge* spyware problem. :gasp: I've been trying to learn on my own, and taken the basic actions that a non-techie could learn. I've read the FAQ, and several other posts, learned a lot .. but I've gotten to the point where I'm against a wall and have to do my first post. Forgive me being overdetailed here, but I want to make sure to be fully descriptive

What I've done that hasn't worked: :wtf:

1) "Spybot" (doesn't find the problem)

2) "Ad-Aware" (finds some of the problem, fixes it, but it immediately returns)

3) Using "Hijack-This" to try to eliminate the obvious lines that are problems (they simply reappear)

4) "CWS Shredder": I suspect I have a variant of this problem, but CWS Shredder doesn't find it.

5) Registry .. Dangerous for someone inexperienced like me .. tried to read instructions and then use Regedit to manually edit the Search+Start+Default pages in the Registry. Problems improved for 5 minutes, then returned.

The Problems! :

 My browser is permanently set to start at res://aiziu.dll/index.html#96676. Nothing I can do changes this.

 The following page constantly pops up in browser windows while I'm trying to surf: "http://www.lookfor.c....php?pin=96676"

 If I try to do a web search, esp google, then a parallel search is always done by http://search-to-find.com/sec.php?qq= [whatever I was searching for on Google]

 Fully half the time I type an address into my browser, it gets intercepted by another page, which has "Windows Help Center" in bold letters on top. (and says "URL error".) For example, entering amazon.com got me this page "res://aiziu.dll/url_error.html#amazon.com"

 Usually I can get to my intended page by hitting the link provided on that redirect page, but sometimes I get endlessly redirected to another page without an obvious URL, that says "Please try the following: Sites organized by subject" on top.

 When I start up my computer, it says Windows is unable to find the file "bridge.dll". Windows then tries to install Microsoft Publisher 2002, even though it is already installed.

 Some .dll files have been installed in System 32 .. I could not erase them, but renamed three I found and moved them to my D: drive. (Sorry, I forgot the names of the files)

 My customizations of IE6 have been changed, and I can't reset them myself.

 I experience an endless stream of popup ads, usually telling me I have spyware, or advertising a (probably bogus) spyware remover.

The Log:

I've read enough on here to know that the #1 thing requested is to post a "Hijack This" log. Here goes. Trying to erase the R0s and R1s by themselves did nothing for me; there is no O5-O7.

Any help is incredibly appreciated .. I'm pretty desparate here! Please walk me through because although the above represents an attempt to read and learn before posting, I really know very little about these matters.

Thank you VERY much - Kevin

Small update note: Avast just found C:\WINDOWS\system32\mscf32.exe to be a trojan, or infected by one. It removed the file, but its still coming up in my Hijack This! log for some reason...
