      IE 11 copy/paste problem

      It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

Haunted by CWS.Searchx forcing martfinder.com home

Have spent multiple hours attempting to remove spyware that changes my home page and causes popups telling me my computer is infected with spyware (and invits me to download free software to fix it!)

Running UPDATED versions of Adware, Spybot, CWShredder, and "Hijckthis" temprarily eliminate problem, but it always returns. Specifically..

ADAWARE 6.0 finds and quarantines:

obj[0]=RegValue : SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

obj[8]=RegValue : Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser

obj[11]=File : c:\docume~1\rlb\locals~1\temp\sp.html

obj[5]=RegData : Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

SPYBOT finds and fixes about 6 or 7 DSO threats (?... can't find report)

CWShredder detects and removes CWS.searchx

Hey, finally after days of trying i finally erradicated CWS from my computer. no spyware removing program worked so i know how you are feeling. your version looks very similar to mine (R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\DOCUME~1\rlb\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html rather than other places) and after tons of research and reading it was suggested that CWS.Searchx wasnt being removed by CWShredder because it was "covered" by CWS.Realyellowpage.

The removal instructions and programs needed are in Merijn's page although the strand i had is not the same as the one posted there (different file size, etc). When looking for the dll, i thought the file without a description in the log, (from the PrcView, which in my case was called ncb.dll) was suspicious, and then checked its properties and realised it wasnt written by any major companies. Backup copies were made (zipped) and proceeded to delete it with KillBox as the instructions say, then ran CWShredded to delete CWS.Searchx and DONE! dont delete any dll without making a zipped backup copy, just to make sure it runs, and also MAKE SURE its not a file used by some other program.

hope this helps a bit, maybe if u post the PcrView log (option 2, Internet Explorer's DLLs) I might be able to help you more.
