Hi,
First thing to do is ...

Reconfigure Windows Explorer to show Hidden Files: [required step]
Open the Windows Explorer, click View > Folder Options - View [tab]:

Scroll down to the "Hidden Files and Folders" section.
Select: "Show hidden files and folders", Ok the prompt
Uncheck: "Hide file extensions for known file types"
Uncheck: "Hide protected operating system files" Ok the Prompt, click Apply

Click "View" (up top) select: Details
Click the "Like Current Folder" button. Close Windows Explorer.

Restart in Safe Mode (see "How To" below)

Start | Run (type) "%temp%" (no quotes)
Completely delete the entire contents of that "temp" folder.

Open Windows Explorer locate and delete the following:

C:\WINDOWS\DLLHLP.EXE <--this file
Note: do not delete: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DDHELP.EXE

Restart normally and then update your version of HijackThis.

Download > HijackThis 1.98
Unzip, if prompted to "replace existing" select: Yes then rescan and past a fresh log.

Looks like your infected again ...

Uninstall via Add Remove: P2P NETWORKING

Close all open windows, except for HijackThis place a check in each of the following:
Then click "Fix checked".

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://your-searcher.com/sp.htm
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://find4u.net/index.htm
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://your-searcher.com/sp.htm
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://your-searcher.com/index.htm
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [P2P NETWORKING] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\P2P NETWORKING\P2P NETWORKING.EXE /AUTOSTART
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [dllhelp] c:\windows\dllhlp.exe
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file)

Then reboot, on restart, restart in Safe Mode (see "How To" below)

Start | Run (type) "%temp%" (no quotes)
Completely delete the entire contents of that "temp" folder.

Open Windows Explorer locate and delete the following:

C:\WINDOWS\DLLHLP.EXE <--this file

Restart normally and then ...

Reconfigure Ad-Aware for Full Scan:
Please update the reference file following the instructions here:
http://www.lavahelp....dref/index.html

Launch the program, and click on the Gear at the top of the start screen.

Click the "Scanning" button.
Under Drives & Folders, select "Scan within Archives".
Click "Click here to select Drives + folders" and select your installed hard drives.

Under Memory & Registry, select all options.
Click the "Advanced" button. Under "Log-file detail", select all options.

Click the "Tweaks" button. Under "Scanning Engine", select the following:
1) "Include additional Ad-aware settings in logfile"
2) "Unload recognized processes during scanning."

Under "Cleaning Engine", select the following:
"Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."
Click on Proceed to save these Preferences.
Note: make sure that you activate IN-DEPTH scanning before you proceed.

I did do a search on explore in safe mode as advised to delete the only file was DLLHLP.LGH

Make sure you have Hidden Files Enabled (see above - previous post)

Or (from Safe Mode) Start > Search > Advanced Options

Can anyone advise a good firewall

http://www.zonelabs.com/ [freeware]

After the above, reboot, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log ...

sorry its taken time to reply but i have had major porblems with my pc (using work at the mo) ..... any way I re-followed the steps and had time to rerun HJT ....... I took a quick scan and couldnt see any offending files on it but I notice in my favourites files there were some dodgy looking links......... I loaded AD-WAre on and Zonelabs fire wall but when I ran a virus check there were 3 files found on my c drive that I couldnt heal or delete.............I had the same problem with running Girosoft AVG anti virus ............I dont know if this is the cause of my PC problem as my cd-rom no longer works ...............and the problems I had after installing Zonelabs was a joke .....so my PC is off to get fix ......once back I will repost and hopefully with Ad-Ware, Spybot and Zonelabs I shouldnt have any problems...................

Thanks for your help
