Can anyone please tell me if there are any nasties lurking here? I recently had an online-casino icon on my desktop, but i think i've gotten rid of it.
What should I remove from this hijack this log?
I am on XP Home, I run NAV 2003 (up to date), Spybot (ditto), Adaware (ditto), cwshredder etc. Google is my homepage.

Nothing obviously wrong in your log.

What problems were/are you having?

Thanks for the response Doug.

Been getting occasional error:

the instruction at "0x77f57ec4" referenced memory at "0x00000067" the memory could not be written

Had it a few times since having trouble with an online casino icon I couldn't get rid of. Found two dodgy files in sys 32 and deleted them (telnetxp & taskngr) and ran CWShredder.

Has been better since and they have not returned.

I was quite concerned about this entry in the hijack logfile:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ScanRegistry] C:\W

Internet searches found it related to lots of viruses!?!?

Does the log look clean to you??

Thanks for your time,

Buck.

Sorry. I missed that completely!!
Run Hijack this again, and fix that item, by putting a check in the box, and clicking on fix checked.
Reboot, search for and delete the file C:\W.

As a double check, get an on line scan at either Housecall or Panda A/V, and let it fix anything it finds.

Dave,

Thanks very much.
Got rid of that ok and come up clean on scan.

One quick question:
If google is my home page (and always has been) and
it's never been changed on me

Then why is this entry in the logfile????

Thanks,

Buck.
