I have Spybot S&D, SpySweeper and Pestpatrol, the latter two with a subscription.
my adware and maybe spyware infection maybe caused by the site themexp when i downloaded a "wrapped" boot screen and didnt know that wrapped ment infected with spyware. i removed all traces of that infection. for a week i ran scans on startup and shutdown and was clean. now i am infected with

Vx2(Transponder)
Twain-Tech

and they seem to be run by
MxTarget.dll and
Vx2 (Transponder) thnall1t.exe

anyway my spysweeper says two programs are running it and i read mxtarget.dll runs twaintech and the .exe is always mentioned when i start up. you see i have a crap load of protection the problem is that somehow it regenerates when it restart, turn off for a while or after a while being turned off. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Hello the_simurgh,

Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add or Remove Programs "Change or Remove Programs"
and Remove "Twain-Tech" (if it's there)
__________

Next, take a free Online Virus scan at http://housecall.trendmicro.com or http://www3.ca.com/v.../virusscan.aspx
__________

Now go to Task Manager (Ctrl + Alt + Delete) and click on "Processes" then "End Process" for this:

hfptmeuy.exe

And then close Task Manager.
__________

Then, you don't have HJT in a Permanent folder.
Click My Computer, then C:\
In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT" or "HijackThis". Now you have C:\HJT\ folder. Put your HijackThis.exe there, and double click to run it.
This will allow backups to be made and saved By hijackthis in case something goes wrong
Follow this link http://www.netstar.me.uk/hjt/hjt.html if you need help.
__________

Next, open HijackThis, click Scan, then put a check next to the following entries:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapp...//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapp.../search/ie.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapp...//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://red.clientapp...//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapp...//www.yahoo.com

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {0000607D-D204-42C7-8E46-216055BF9918} - C:\WINDOWS\mxTarget.dll

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [rlwtrkxwfgprk] C:\WINDOWS\System32\hfptmeuy.exe

Now, Close all open Windows and Browsers (have only HJT open) and click "Fix Checked"

Then, reboot to Safe Mode (tap F8 while restarting) and delete these 2 files:

C:\WINDOWS\mxTarget.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\hfptmeuy.exe

You may have to show hidden files:

Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab.
Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

Then, reboot normally.

Let's take a look for a Vx2 infection:
A tool has been made by Option^Explicit and freeatlast to find and remove it.
Please download VX2Finder from this link, and save it to your Desktop.

http://www.downloads...g/VX2Finder.exe

Run Vx2Finder click on the *click to find VX2.BetterInternet* button. Then click *make log*.
Copy and paste the contents of the log into your next reply here, along with a new HJT log.
