      IE 11 copy/paste problem

      It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

Infection. Please assist.

This problem started out today when Google Chrome started getting random errors and wouldn't go to any websites.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall but this didn't fix the errors I was getting.

I tried to install another browser, Avant, and when it installed it said "Blah blah blah.. please run your anti-virus."

This concerned me, so I did just what it said. I ran Norton with no results, I tried to then access an online virus scanner, this did not work because I couldn't access ANY online virus scanners (I just get a DNS failure, like the webpage isn't real)

However if I turn on Tor, and use Firefox, I can navigate to any website.

I checked my HOSTS file and it looks fairly clean (*besides the comments):

127.0.0.1 localhost

::1 localhost

I am in the process of running ClamWin and Malwarebytes. I also will probably run AdAware and Spybot.

Here is my Hijackthis log:

Hi,

I'm nasdaq and will be helping you.

Print this topic it will make it easier for you to follow the instructions and complete all of the necessary steps.

Please change the location of HijackThis.exe.

Create a new folder in your C: Drive

Name it C:\HJT or HijackThis and move the HijackThis.exe file in it.

It's best for this tool NOT TO be located in your Desktop or in a TEMP folder.

This way you can undo any changes if something goes wrong and will prevent the tool placing shortcuts on your Desktop and creating temporary files in your C:\ drive.

===

Since nothing or a malware infection has been infected Please download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from >>here<< and save it to your desktop.

  • Double click on RSIT.exe to launch program.
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Your firewall may alert you that RSIT is requesting Internet access. Please allow it.
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open: log.txt<-- this will be maximized and info.txt<-- this will be minimized.

These reports are long, please post the contents of both logs (in separate post) in your next reply.
