Not sure why, but even as PC is running normally it overheats to the piont that I cant type. Sometimes it even just turns off. However, when I go to start and shut it down it won't finsih turning off for nearly 40 min. I can't find anything wrong with my settings. My virus scans don't show anything than the occasional cookie and adware. Many times I can't even finish a full scan without the PC just crashing. Please help. Thanks

Hi vbdarsh, and Welcome Back.

I see nothing wrong with your logs.

The biggest reasons for overheating tend to be a failed or failing fan, and dust that needs to be cleaned out, particularly around the CPU heat sink.

Are you comfortable opening the case? If you are, the first thing to do would be to open the case (generally 4 hex nuts) and just look. Remove the cover, don't touch anything inside yet, and power it up. Is the CPU fan spinning and the case fan(s) spinning? If one of them has stopped, the fan needs to be replaced.

If the fans are all running, if there is a lot of dust, you can clean that out carefully with a can of compressed air (keep the can upright) with the system powered OFF. You need to be careful of the fans, as a good blast from a can of compressed air can spin the fans faster than they should, and might damage the bearings. You should insert a pencil between the fan blades to block the blades from spinning when you dust the fans. There may be a lot around the CPU fins, and don't forget the power supply area. Be careful to not dislodge any cables. When finished close the case.

Hint, if you have a table on a patio, that may be a good place to clean the dust out if there is a lot.

Did that help?

Hello. I have completed the instructions you gave me and removed some dust from the system and the cooling fan. However, the computer still overheats but just not as fast. Is there some setting I can change so that the computer doesn't produce so much heat. I can't even keep the laptop in my lap. Also I've found maleware on my pc. Firefox seems to cause the computer to freeze and crash. Please look at my updated logs.

Please use the Posted Image button to reply. It's easier to read. Thanks.

I see no malware in your HijackThis log. the items that MBAM deleted were registry entries, and difficult to say what they were from, other than apparently related to a file packer, but there were no malicious files found.

I have completed the instructions you gave me and removed some dust from the system and the cooling fan. However, the computer still overheats but just not as fast.

That's an improvement, however:

I can't even keep the laptop in my lap.

While there are laptop coolers available...

...if it's that hot, I would contact technical support for the manufacturer of the laptop. you may have a serious problem, possibly battery related.
