      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

The "res://???.dll/index.html#28129" Hijacker

3 posts in this topic

To whom it may concern,

As of last night, I somehow obtained a Home Search Assistant as my startup page in IE, going under a constantly changing URL (at this point in time, it is res://xdpuo.dll/index.html#28129). I have tried many things -- SpyBot, the latest release of Ad-Aware with the 01.07.2004 reference update (using the instructions put forth by PGPhantom and cnm in a different post), RegLite, and HijackThis, but this problem keeps arising.

As a sidenote, Ad-Aware seems to be able to find "Possible Browser Hijacker" entries, but these entries constantly return. Additionally, the .dll file(s) that many people say that I should find in the WINDOWS directory (or somewhere within there) ...well, I certainly can't see them.

I was wondering if you have any other ideas as to how I can solve this mischievous issue!

I have included the logfile information that I attained from HijackThis:
