      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

PLEASE READ - Reversing upgrade   02/23/2017

We have found that this new upgrade is somewhat of a disaster.  We are finding lots of glitches in being able to post and administer the forum.  Additionally, there are new costs associated with the upgrade that we simply cannot afford.  As a result, we have decided to reverse course and go back to the previous version of our software.  Since this will involve restoring it from a backup, we will lose posts that have been added since January 30 or possibly even some before that.    If you started a topic during that time, we urge you to make backups of your posts and you will need to start the topics over again after the change.  You can simply paste the copies of your posts that you created at that point.    If you joined the forum this month, you will need to re-register since your membership will be lost along with the posts.  Since you have a concealed password, we cannot simply restore your membership for you.   We are going to backup as much as we can so that it will reduce inconvenience for our members.  Unfortunately we cannot back everything up since much will be incompatible with the old version of our software.  We apologize for the confusion and regret the need to do this even though it is not viable to continue with this version of the software.   We plan to begin the process tomorrow evening and, if it goes smoothly, we shouldn't be offline for very long.  However, since we have not done this before, we are not sure how smoothly it will go.  We ask your patience as we proceed.   EDIT: I have asked our hosting service to do the restore at 9 PM Central time and it looks like it will go forward at that time.  Please prepare whatever you need to prepare so that we can restore your topics when the forum is stable again.

Please help!

I've tried Ad-aware, Search and Destroy and even Trojanhunter. I tried to download CoolWebShredder, but midway through the thing stopped b/c the virus detected it and wouldn't let it finish. I've even put that blaster program on but it only prevents, it doesn't fix the problem. I think I've gotten rid of 60% of the pblm but it is still there! My computer is extremely slow and won't let me go to certain websites, I had to directly click on this link to get here. It adds files automatically to my favorites. Please answer someone...

Hello redgrape,

I was looking at a couple of posts and came across this one: http://www.spywareinfoforum.com/index.php?showtopic=12565&hl=

Their is a link to a program there called find N fix. I ran a version of this file for my windows 98 PC called win98fix.zip and it cleared up some of my problems. For example my Norton Antivirus 2004 wasn't running correctly, I couldn't download a program called spyware blaster and number of other programs that wouldn't run were fixed with this program. So check this post out... It might give you ideas on how to fix your PC. If this works then you might try dowloading CWShredder.exe.

You have many other parasites and using that

program at this stage is not advised.

Also it won't correct your ooutdated IE version and service packs.

Start by fixing the following in hijackthis:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page_bak = http://default-homepage-network.com/start.cgi?new-hkcu

R3 - URLSearchHook: IncrediFindBHO Class - {5D60FF48-95BE-4956-B4C6-6BB168A70310} - C:\PROGRA~1\INCRED~1\BHO\INCFIN~1.DLL

O2 - BHO: biObj Class - {000006B1-19B5-414A-849F-2A3C64AE6939} - C:\WINNT\bi.dll

O2 - BHO: F1 Organizer Class - {00000EF1-0786-4633-87C6-1AA7A44296DA} - C:\WINNT\system32\ATPART~1.DLL

O2 - BHO: MxTargetObj Class - {0000607D-D204-42C7-8E46-216055BF9918} - C:\WINNT\mxTarget.dll

O2 - BHO: NavErrRedir Class - {5D60FF48-95BE-4956-B4C6-6BB168A70310} - C:\PROGRA~1\INCRED~1\BHO\INCFIN~1.DLL

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [zcxvwxxui] C:\WINNT\system32\mjfect.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ecuritys] C:\WINNT\system32\ecuritys.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [updater] C:\Program Files\Common files\updater\wupdater.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [catsrv] C:\WINNT\system32\catsrv.exe

O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://207.188.7.150/125a3a50112e6a28b423/...ip/RdxIE601.cab

Restart your computer, find and delete:

WINNT\mxTarget.dll< file

WINNT\system32\mjfect.exe< file

WINNT\system32\ecuritys.exe< file

WINNT\system32\catsrv.exe< file

Program Files\Incredifind <folder

Program Files\Common files\updater< folder

When done, Visit Windows updates via the link in my signature, Download and install IE6/SP1 +SP4 for win2k, and any and all security updates on offer!

When you have done that, Download again the latest versions of-

CWShredder.exe and fully updated Ad-Aware!

Scan and fix all problems left.

Post your hijackkthis log when done.
