It happened a couple of days ago. I have run Ad-aware, Spybot, CWshredder, and McAfee. McAfee found and cleaned/deleted three viruses but I still have the problem. Pages randomly open and go to a page that I did not want. Sometimes it's when I click a link, as if to post something or read something and sometimes a window will open all by itself.

Here is a current Hijackthis log:

I did what you said but there is a file called simply..."mcc" there are two other files that say mcc.exe but they are in something called recycler on my "D" drive which I do not use. It will not let me delete any of the three. I searched and did not come up with any program called Viewpoint but I did find a viewpoint key in the regestry and I deleted that. I found Viewpoint manager and viewpoint media player in the list that comes up for "add/remove" and I removed both of them.

I think I may have gotten rid of it. I found some more stuff in the registry and ran HThis again and found another searchbar thing in there. I rebooted and so far-so good...I'll post again if it starts again.

One weird thing...after I rebooted there is an icon on my desktop that is a pad with a gear and it says "Desktop" if I try to delete it a box tells me that it is a system file. Any ideas how to get it back where it goes?

Well desktop, or Desktop.ini could be in any one of several places! There should be one in shared documents, and in each <username> documents folder.
Search for the files from Start>search, and select "search system folders, and search for hidden files.
See which show up in the results. If you cannot see where there might be something missing, post back with the results.
Be wary of strong drink. It may make you shoot at tax collectors, and miss!
