      IE 11 copy/paste problem

      It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

Personal Security Removal Help

Hello,

 

A friend of mine called me over to check their computer, I found out it has Personal Security on it, the malicious spyware acting as a piece of security software. I followed an online procedure for how to remove it, however, the anti-malware program that I am using freezes during the quarantine stage.

I decided that scanning the computer with hijackthis would be a good option. Below is a hijackthis logfile. Please let me know what I need to delete to A. Delete Personal Security and B. any other malicious threats to the system. Further, if by removing them through hijackthis will not remove Personal Security, please point me in the direction of a good alternative.

* Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

 

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • In case you already used MBAM previously, please update it before proceeding with the scan. To do this, click the "Update" tab and click the "Check For updates" button.
  • Once the program has loaded and updates were downloaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

Extra Note:

If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediatly.

Sorry, computer locked up... didnt get to say what I wanted.

 

Anywho, thank you for posting. I have already downloaded Malwarebytes program and I get to the part where it is beginning to quarantine the files, it gets to one particular file and the program doesn't give me options. It does that for about 20 minutes, stuck on that one file (and showing no progress) should I wait longer to get options from this step? Or would starting the computer in safe mode help?

 

Any ideas would be grand.

Yes, please try again from Windows safe mode. If still the same, please post the log from malwarebytes, so I can see what it detected.

You can get the report already before you tell malwarebytes to remove what it found.
