I have a popular (I think) problem. I think my computer is infected with CoolWebSearch. Why? Because I have a process named SVCHOST.EXE. There are four of them. Most of my friends have three. They stay around 0% CPU use. But I have four SVCHOST's - one Local, one Net and two SYSTEM. There is one SYSTEM process which takes 99% of my 1715 MHz CPU. That's pretty annoying. When I play games, suddenly it starts to lag and they don't stop to. AdAware don't detect anything (just some crap - mostly cookies).

But, I am not that lame. I downloaded CWShredder and updated it. I did it about 15 minutes ago. I ran this, but this program didn't detect anything. Just, one time, when I ran it, the program said I have CWS.Smartsearch.2, which tried to close CWS. But, at the scan, CWShredder didn't detect anything. Now, I am pretty confused. Why does this happen?

Am I supposed to close this process everytime I turn on or reboot my computer? (This helps a lot, but is pretty annoying and a window "RPC Error" appears that I must use shutdown -a). Please, Help :-). Am I supposed to give you any external infos (except HijackThis log)?

Hi neo,

Please do this first,

Update HijackThis to version 1.98
run HijackThis
select config> misc tools and select "update online". then yes.
Run a scan and post a new Hijackthis log after you are done.
