My PC is infected with this XXX porn dialler that Rob encountered on 14th June.
I have run SpyBot and Hijack This and thought it had fixed it but to no avail.
I also get the following window keep popping up:
C:|windows\dl.html - Microsoft Internet Explorer
and:
about blank - Microsoft Internet Explorer

Below is my Hijack This log file.
I have also been through the FAQ.

Please Help.

Regards, John

Welcome back John. Well done.
Lets clean up a few left over bits.

Please run hijack and place a check in the following entries.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [System Process] C:\WINDOWS\csrss.exe /i
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [browser] C:\WINDOWS\browse.exe /i
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [uninstal] regsvr32 /u /s image.dll
O4 - Startup: Microsoft Find Fast.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\FINDFAST.EXE

Insure All IE. browsers and all other open windows are closed, except hijackthis.,
Then select Fix Checked

These items below in blue can be fixed if you choose, they are unnecessary programs running at start and/or that hog resources: Having hijack fix it does not remove the program, just their start up command.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\QTTASK.EXE" -atboottime
It's the system tray icon for quick time player.

To unhide hidden files,
  • On desktop doubleclick My Computer and select View and click Details
  • Again select View >Folder Options
  • Under the View tab,
  • Tick show all files
  • Untick hide file extensions for all file types. Select Apply then OK
Restart in Safe mode and open an IE and select Tools> Internet options and delete all temporary internet files and tick "delete offline content"
Then find and delete the following files
C:\ temp <--delete all possible files in this folder
C:\windows\ temp <--delete all possible files in this folder

While still in safe mode, find and delete the following files/folders if they still exist:
C:\WINDOWS\ csrss.exe <--delete only this file
C:\WINDOWS\[b] browse.exe <--delete only this file

Restart your system
Since you have no Antivirus running, please download and install this FREE antivirus program AVG antivirus from Grisoft.

Restart and repost a new log from hijack.

Hello again thebos, very good.

I would reiterate that you are in need of an Antivirus program to keep from getting reinfected.

Things look better now. How are things working.

Below is my standard speech.
