I've got Ad Aware and CWS shredder but I simply can't get rid of About Blank and Slotch and a whole host of others - literally too numerous to mention.

Everyday Ad Aware takes off about 135 of these boogers but everytime I reboot back they come.

The problem now is that the PC is running incredibly slowly even when I'm not on the Net.

I do have HijackThis but I'm not condifent about removing things especially as I'm really not sure of what I'm doing.

I have read and followed (where I can) some of the suggestion for removing the offending items but don't seem to be able to lick this one by myself.

Would anyone here be willing to help me here with this?

hi there
went through what you said - couldn't find a folder called WindowsSA or folders in Program Files ist or istservice.

However I did several odd looking folders in the program files:
They all contain files like istbar.dll or xmlistbar.php
There's about 4 of these folders all containing identical istbar things in them.
