      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

cws_ns3 hijacker

21 posts in this topic

I've run the newest versions/definitions of Webroot's Spy Sweeper ... same for Ad-Aware and PestPatrol. I bought Spy Sweeper and PestPatrol. So far, it looks like money wasted. Nothing gets rid of this cws_ns3 hijacker ... and keeps it gone. Spy Sweeper and Ad-Aware both find it and claim to be cleaning it .. but not really. PestPatrol never even finds it.

I've read most of the other posts and doesn't seem like anybody has THEE answer.

I sent Spy Sweeper an email asking if they were working on a "fix"? ... As of yet, no response.

HELP!?

Hello please download About:Buster Version 1.25 made by me, and unzip it to your desktop. Start it, hit Ok, Start, And Ok again to start the scan. It will generate a log. Post that log along with a new Hijack this log here.

Ducky

This should work. If it doesnt reboot into safe mode and try.

And it looks like money was wasted if you only bought it to remove this cws.

Thanks! DuckY.

Will do when I get back from lunch. And .. no, I didn't just buy those programs because of this CWS trouble. They both appear to be great programs ... just behind the curve in dealing with this new cancer/pest.

Should I "turn off" the Webroot Spy Sweeper before I do this? It keeps flashing the screen about restore or accept new settings for the homepage ... which is Google.

Good job following directions.

Glad to see your clean

Took 4 hours and 27 minutes... which is pretty good seeing that other people dont get replies as quickly.

Spy Sweeper just finished running. It shows to have found 1 file of something called Spyware Nuker and 2 traces. When I go to the "remove" screen, it says quarantined 1 file ... removed 1 trace ... ignored 1 trace. When I go to the quarantined page it shows it quarantined CWS_NS3 Hijacker. What's up? Maybe I didn't follow the instructions as well as you gave me credit for doing.

Ideas?

Well your previous log looks like its not infected. SpySweeper can remove what it wants. It has a totally different reference file than my program has. As long as your homepage is fine. My program has done its job.

If there are any more problems post here :)

I just rebooted and ran Buster again. This is the log:

About:Buster Version 1.25

Attempted Clean Of Temp folder.

Removed LEGACY___NS_Service_3 Key

Pages Reset... Done!

Should this still be showing up?

Will run HJT and post that in a moment.

If you say I'm "clean" I'm a believer.

Thanks Again!

Thank$ on it$ way!!

Besides staying off the internet ... and the help of folks like you ... Ad-Aware .. Spybot ... Spyblaster ... PestPatrol ... Spy Sweeper ... am I in overkill mode or simply paranoid?

Nothings overkill unless you are running multiple firewalls and antiviruses.

Also never run 2 anti-spyware programs at once (scanners i mean).

Spybot immunization, spywareblaster, etc... is protection enough.

Another suggestion

New browser such as Mozilla or FireFox. Internet Explorer has too many bugs.
