      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

Secure.html IE start page (CWS.msconfig?)

2 posts in this topic

Anbody else having trouble with the secure.html start/default page in Internet Explorer? The file is located in the c:\windows folder - when you delete it it goes in the recycle bin - but a new copy appears right away. I've booted to safe mode and deleted it and then emptied the recycle bin. However when you boot again in normal mode it reappears.

I've done Adware, Spybot Search & Destroy, SpywareBlaster, HjackThis, Trojan Hunter (found a dialer backed up in the hidden RECYCLER folder). Deleted temp files in the documents and settings folder. This is Windows XP so turned off System Restore service.

The 'hosts' file was gone in C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc folder I took a copy off my computer and copied it over. Else Norton Antivirus 2004 Pro was having fits and displaying virus alerts that a trojan horse was on the computer (no duh!)

Since Merijn.org is down, I can't look up the information on there about this.. I'm stumped cause I've deleted any unknown BHO's and DLL files in HjackThis. There must be some "parent" dll file or something around that recopies the secure.html file back to the Windows folder.

Anybody else haveing trouble?
