      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

PLEASE HELP!! Very annoying spyware issue...

4 posts in this topic

When I start Windows I get an error saying that it can't find bridge.dll. I am very new to hijackthis and require help analyzing the log file. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also get an annoying pop-up installer that somehow gets through both of my pop-up stoppers asking me to install AT Games at almost every site I go to. Help me!

Hello jimmyp0131,

Open Hijackthis, click Scan, then put a check next to the following entries:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RunDLL] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\System32\bridge.dll",Load

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dmwgqlfk] C:\WINDOWS\System32\revmhpya.exe

Now Close all open Windows and browsers (have only HJT open) and click "Fix Checked".

Then, reboot to Safe Mode (tap F8 while restarting) and delete these files:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\bridge.dll",Load

C:\WINDOWS\System32\revmhpya.exe

You may have to show hidden files:

Click Start.

Open My Computer.

Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.

Select the View Tab.

Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.

Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.

Click Yes to confirm.

Click OK.

Do you know what this is, ndw.exe

It's located in C:\Program Files\ndw\ndw.exe

If you don't, can you please navigate to it and right click on it, go to Properties, and post back any infomation on it.

Then please post a new HJT log, and let us know how you made out.

Well I fixed what you told me to fix but when I went into safe mode to delete those files they were not there, even with the hidden and operating system files showing. Fortunately, all the startup errors are gone. I don't know what ndw.exe is and can't find any documentation on it to even give me a clue. The properties of the file just give me the date created and the last date modified, nothing special. This tablet PC is new to me and I am still sorting through the software that came preloaded on it. Let me know if you have any ideas, here's the new HJT log file:

Hi jimmyp0131,

Those files aren't showing up now, so they were fixed in hijackthis. As for the ndw.exe, it might be legit, so as long as you don't have any concerns, I would leave it for now.

The rest of your log looks good.

Here is some free protection you should consider:

Download and install:

SpywareBlaster will block bad ActiveX and malevolent cookies.

IESPYAD puts over 4000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.

Check for updates occaisionally.

And also see So how did I get infected in the first place?
