I have read alot of SP.html other posts in these forums but nothing seems to work for me in particular, I have myself run CWshredder and Hijack this + adaware 6 and remvoved all of its crap, but after I turn on ad watch on adaware, it still continues to try to add itself to the registery, which I block every time but have no clue how its surviving on my computer, I thought I got rid of it all! :scratchhead:

Any help asap would be greatly apreciated ive been messing with this problem for far to long already and need it gone now

Another thing to note is this is on more than one user aswell, my brothers user is infected also, not sure how to clean out of both at the same time

Due to errors on various message boards I made some changes.
You must know how to ID the file based on the filters provided in
the scan, as not all the files flagged are bad.
If you make a mistake or use the wrong guidance, it is completely
your responsibility and the helper that assists you.
If you are not sure about the nature of the file or how
to proceed, I suggest you research it first before attempting
to remove any *unknown file on your own.
*For Helpers and/or users that are not familiar with any of the
items on the scan results- I recommend using an alternative, once
you know what to look for!

Well done!
File identified!
This will take couple or more steps to fix.
Be sure to Follow the next set of steps carefully, in
the exact order specified:

1.)
*Get ready to restart your computer.
- Open the FINDnFIX\Keys1\ Subfolder And
DoubleClick on the "FIX.bat" file.
-You will get a prompt preparing for auto-restart in 15 seconds.
-Let it restart!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.)
On restart, Go to Start/Search, and find:
D3DJFPN.DLL (Should be in System32 folder)
-When found, select the "D3DJFPN.DLL" file And use the folder's top menu:
edit>......move to folder>... (From the search results)
Scroll and Select the following path as destination:
-> C:\ -> FINDnFIX... -> Click once to expand, and select the
->...junkxxx Subfolder as final destination, and move
the "D3DJFPN.DLL" into that Subfolder.(C:\FINDnFIX\junkxxx)
(you might get a prompt about 'read-only' file -Simply 'ok' it!)
--------------------------------------------------------------
3.)
When done, Open the C:\FINDnFIX main folder and
Run the -> "RESTORE.bat" file ,
It will run and generate new log (log1.txt)
Post it here.
===================================================
*Note:
Do not change/move around or
tamper with any of the file(s) folder(s) and path
included in the 'FINDnFIX' folder.

Nearly there! ;)

Last step(s):

-Open the FINDnFIX\Files2< Subfolder:
Run the -> "ZIPZAP.bat" file.
It will quickly clean the rest and
will create a zipped copy of the bad file(s) in the same
folder (named as-- junkxxx.zip) and open your email client with instructions:
Simply drag and drop the 'junkxxx.zip' file from
the folder into the mail message and submit
to the specified addresses! Thanks!

(Please include the link in your mail to the board
that assisted you, so any errors in the process could be traced back!)

When done, restart your computer and
Delete and entire 'FINDnFIX' file+Subfolder(s)
From C:\

As for the remains, run any and all
removal tools once again as they should work properly now!
In particular,
CWShredder.exe and fully updated Ad-Aware!

Feel free to post follow up hijackthis log when done! ;)

i've had the same malware which i can only describe as "@#$(&)%@" for the past 2 weeks
been making me nuts... nomatter what i tried it kept showing up

this solution worked perfectly!!! (my filename was different, wdmfilb.dll, but i guess it's one of this malware's own protections)
my pc is once again free from spywares and surprisingly faster! (i forgot how fast it was :D )

thank you!!!

Thank you for re-opening this subject

After following all those steps and removing the mal ware, I fully updated windows, but I’m still having this little problem, every now and then, while its rare, its still annoying. Something is trying to redirect my home page to http://mysearchnow.com/ I forget the rest, but yeah, every time I block it with ad aware, but any help would be appreciated, because nothing can pick it up.

First:
Download the following tool and install it in its own folder:
http://download.broa...Finder(126).exe
http://www.downloads...Finder(126).exe

=== Get Name of Hidden dll ===
Run vx2finder(126).exe
Press 'Click to Find VX2.BetterInternet'
Press 'Make Log' and post it in this thread for review

Second:
=== All in Safe Mode ===

Before we begin, please be sure that HiJackThis is in its own folder. This will allow us to use backups to restore entries if necessary. Please do not put HiJackThis in a temporary folder, or on the Desktop. I suggest using 'c:\program files\hijackthis\' or C:\HiJackThis\, but any name you choose is fine.

Reboot in Safe Mode* and run HiJackThis. <-- IMPORTANT

Check the following items in HijackThis.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UpdReg] C:\WINDOWS\UpdReg.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [army about] C:\PROGRA~1\DASHON~1\styletool.exe

Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked.

While still in Safe Mode*, delete the following: (you may need to show hidden files**)
C:\PROGRA~1\DASHON~1\styletool.exe

*How to Boot into Safe mode: http://service1.syma...001052409420406
**Show Hidden and System files and folders
http://www.xtra.co.n...1916458,00.html

Also, uncheck the boxes for hiding known file extensions and hiding protected operating system files. We want to see it all. When we finish here, it would be a good idea to rehide the protected operating system files but leave the rest to be shown.

Reboot in normal mode.

HiJackThis version 198.0 is now available.
If you do not already have it installed, download it from here:
http://209.133.47.12.../HijackThis.exe
http://downloads.net.../HijackThis.exe
http://www.computerc...s-file-328.html

Run HiJackThis again and post a new log in this thread.

At last, your system is clean and free of spyware! Want to keep it that way?

Here are some simple steps you can take to reduce the chance of infection in the future.

1. Visit Windows Update: <-- YOU NEED TO DO THIS!!
Make sure that you have all the Critical Updates recommended for your operating system and IE. The first defense against infection is a properly patched OS.
a. Windows Update: http://v4.windowsupd.../en/default.asp

1. Adjust your security settings for ActiveX:]
Go to Internet Options/Security/Internet, press 'default level', then OK.
Now press "Custom Level."
In the ActiveX section, set the first option, 'Download signed controls', to 'Prompt; set the
second option, 'Download unsigned controls', to 'Disable'; and finally, set 'Initialize and Script ActiveX controls not marked as safe" to 'Disable'.

2. Download and install the following free programs
a. SpywareBlaster: http://www.javacools...areblaster.html
b. SpywareGuard: http://www.wildersse...ywareguard.html
c. IE/Spyad: https://netfiles.uiu...ww/resource.htm

1. Install Spyware Detection and Removal Programs:
You may also want to consider installing either or both of AdAware (free version) and Spybot S&D (freeware). Use these programs to regularly scan your system for and remove many forms of spyware/malware.
a. AdAware: http://www.lavasoft.de/
b. Spybot S&D: http://security.koll...n&page=download

Good luck, and thanks for coming to our forums for help with your security and malware issues.
