Hello I am new here refered by a friend.
At work I am running Win2000. IE 6.0

When I open a page my search bar ( on the left side of the page) automatically depresses and opens but nothing appears in it. when I click the "customize" button a window appears like normal but it stays blank.

I have cleared out all my cookies and Temp files, ran Spybot, ran our Trend Micro Office Scan corporate Edition AntiVirus software but to no avail. It still does it. No virus' or spyware present.

I have also tried :
Going under HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Internet Explorer > Search Looked for the entry "SearchAssistant" and there is none the only thing in "search" is the picture below.

Creepy stuff. Who here has seen this? What's the fix? Is it just a flashback ?

Thank you

We need a closer look at what's happening.
Please download Hijack this
Copy it into its own folder, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log, do Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents here. Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.
Be wary of strong drink. It may make you shoot at tax collectors, and miss!
