My browser has been hijacked by bjqni.dll - the latest in a string of random .dll files. I've tried all the advice posted, but the symptoms persist. I think I'm forgetting something... here's my HijackThis log, followed by my About:Buster log (great program, RubbeR DuckY).

Thanks very, very much in advance.

:hmmm: not doing good...

Reboot into safe mode again. Run hijack this and tick the boxes next to these items.

Close all windows and hit fix checked. Run About:Buster and boot into normal mode. Post a new Hijack This log. We will then remove the leftovers of other infections.

Here's the new log, hot off the press. From what I can see, it looks as if the R1 and R0 values I fixed in HijackThis during safe mode have generated new .dll files. I'm accessing the internet through Mozilla, so I wouldn't know if Internet Explorer is still loading that .dll as my homepage.

This hijacker is a freak show. When I ran the HijackThis scan in safe mode, the R1, R0, and R3 values didn't show up. 09 and 018 did, and so I check and fixed them.

09 died, but 018 reappeared, so I hunted down the msopt.dll file in my WINNT folder and deleted it. The 018 still reappears, though, as you can see below.

Adding to the strangeness, R1 and R0 values appeared after I fixed 09 and 018, but they said my Main Search Page and Main Start Page were both www.google.com. When I rebooted into normal mode and ran HijackThis, both values reset to the bogus .dll files.

I was in safe mode as the administrator, so I don't know why it would hide things from me. I hope I never meet the punks who made this thing, for the sake of my criminal record... sigh... here's the new log file.

I decided, in the end, to just give up on IE and use Mozilla Firefox instead. The hijacker doesn't seem to affect Firefox, but I'm worried that the spyware will still have access to my comings and goings, and maybe even some personal information. Is that true?
