I am SO sorry if this is in the wrong place, but this is the first time I've ever seen anything like this.

I would like to direct those with the knowledge to this thread
On GTPlanet

The forum is quite legitimate, no pointy finger there... however a link was provided to *opt-out* from cookies from "Avenue A" (post #3).

Err... WHA? Is "Avenue A" spyware or not? What is this opt-out all about? Am I right in the smelling of fishes, or am I just a paranoid old freak?

:scratchhead:

Avenue A plants a tracking cookie.

You can block it easily by installing Spybot SD 1.3. Be sure to update.

Click the Immunize button, see pic.

Also, in Tools, enable Resident for a useful real time registry monitor.

It's probably something like Doubleclick's opt-out cookie. They set a cookie in your browser which will cause Doubleclick's server to ignore you. It's preferable to just block all cookies from that sitel
