      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

6 posts in this topic

Have followed instructions, used Ad aware, Spybot S&D and have switched from IE and OE to firefox and thunderbird. So far so good. Could someone review my hijack this log for any hidden problems? THanks in advance for your help!

Hi there,

Make sure all browsers and windows are closed except for hijackthis and put a check against the following and click 'fix checked';

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

O2 - BHO: (no name) - SOFTWARE - (no file)

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {AA58ED58-01DD-4d91-8333-CF10577473F7} - (no file)

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {2318C2B1-4965-11d4-9B18-009027A5CD4F} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [23hTz] C:\documents and settings\family\local settings\temp\23hTz.exe<<<<if you know of this keep it, if not, fix it and delete the file in bold below.

O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://software-dl.real.com/04a398618b3515...ip/RdxIE601.cab

Restart your computer in

Safe Mode Also make sure you show hidden files Then delete the following files or folders as indicated below if they still show:

C:\documents and settings\family\local settings\temp\23hTz.exe<<<<File

Reboot, then post a fresh logfile so that I can check to see if it is clean.

Thanks for your help. I fixed the selected items. I did not find the 23hTz file in safe mode, even searching hidden files.

Hi there,

Don't worry about that missing file, I indicated that it may not show. It was taken care of during the HJT fix.

Your log is clean now, to help keep it that way do this:

To provide future protection - I would advise you to download and install:

SpywareBlaster will block bad ActiveX and malevolent cookies. Download from Here

IE-SPYAD puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone, if you use IE, so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all. Download

Here

Both are very small free programs that you run once, and then just weekly to check for updates.

And also see

So how did I get infected in the first place?

Thanks, I have spyware blaster and go IE-spy pad. I also went to Firefox for my primary browser but still need IE sometimes.

Thanks!
