I have used Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, AboutBuster, Hijack This, and CWShredder. Each day, I think I've destroyed this nasty little bugger, yet the next day it comes back. PLEASE someone help me get rid of it. I am using Windows XP and IE6.0

Thanks,

Gazinka

I have contacted RubbeR DuckY regarding this problem, and used AboutBuster/Hijack This. It worked for 24 hours, then the problem started again. He suggested I ask for help on this site.

Hopeful in Baltimore...

If it really is coming back day after day then you can try the following.
1. Clear the infection from your computer
2. Set your system clock forwards by 20 years.
3. Connect to the internet and get reinfected
4. Set your date time back to the current date and clear the infection.
This is based on the fact that some browser hijacks work on a timer and will
only try to reinfect your computer a day after the last infection.
If this works it doesn't mean you have cleared all of the infection from your computer.
You also need to download a program called FindnFix and use it to delete the locked
dll file that keeps trying to reinfect your PC.
Also you don't need to use Internet Explorer. You could try downloading the
Mozilla browser and using that instead and you may find that all your browser
problems magically disappear.

You have to shut off system restore in XP first...
Right-click My Computer
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore(tab)
Click checkbox Turn off System Restore
(or checkbox Turn Off System Restore on all drives)
Click Ok
Click Yes when prompted to turn off System Restore

Before you reboot into Safe Mode do a Panda scan here...
http://www.pandasoft...n_principal.htm
...Scan your PC(button).

If the Panda scan shows infections in the RECYCLER folder (hidden folder) you'll
need to delete them in Safe Mode in a command prompt. Panda will show the
paths of anything it finds.
