Admin, Moderator, or Expert: These are people who know a great deal about malware and about PCs. They can give you clear, accurate advice and will be abreast of the latest developments. You are in really good hands.

Trusted Advisor: You can rely on them for excellent help.

Helper: The Helpers are trained and experienced and usually have good suggestions.

Developers, Ambassadors, and Security Colleagues are honored members who do not provide direct help with malware.

Emeritus are ex-Admins and ex-Moderators who are no longer very active.

Helper Trainee: New helpers who are learning their way around. Advanced Trainees (Trainee+) can help under supervision.
To become a Helper Trainee, just read and reply to The Boot Camp here. All are welcome. :)

People in those groups are considered Staff and are welcome in the Staff Chat.

Note: People whose Group is 'New Member' or 'Full Member' have no standing as helpers, and their advice should be regarded sceptically. We try to catch and fix anything dangerous, misleading, or inadequate, but can't always get there in time.
