This is weird.

There are three main sites which keep popping up full screen on my laptop. But it seems as if ther is no rhyme or reason. I could go for eight hours with no pops (thereby thinking I have soved my problems) and then they appear in a new window, full screen. Or there are times when every two minutes they are popping up.

Please help. Nothing I run seems to take care of this issue. It's waaaaaaay over my head.

Thanks.

Hi there,

Make sure all browsers and windows are closed except for hijackthis and put a check against the following and click 'fix checked';

NOTE THE OPTIONAL FIXES, I strongly advise fixing them.

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about:blank
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {CA5AC024-B216-43E6-A20E-CFC6F173A42E} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\kpcjg.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Multimedia Codecs] C:\WINDOWS\System32\mcc.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Weather] C:\PROGRA~1\AWS\WEATHE~1\Weather.exe 1<<<<Optional

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [dpvvox] C:\WINDOWS\System32\dpvvox.exe

O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE<<<<These items are considered to be resource hogs that are not needed and it may be worthwhile to fix them with HJT. You will still be able to start them manually if you need them...

O9 - Extra button: WeatherBug - {AF6CABAB-61F9-4f12-A198-B7D41EF1CB52} - C:\Program Files\AWS\WeatherBug\Weather.exe (HKCU)<<<<Optional, if you use it you can keep it, if not fix it.
O16 - DPF: {2B96D5CC-C5B5-49A5-A69D-CC0A30F9028C} (MiniBugTransporterX Class) - http://download.weat...Transporter.cab?

Restart your computer in
Safe Mode Also make sure you show hidden files Then delete the following files or folders as indicated below if they still show:

Not all or any of these may still show,

C:\PROGRA~1\AWS\WEATHE~1\Weather.exe<<<<Folder <<Optional
C:\WINDOWS\System32\dpvvox.exe<<<<File
C:\WINDOWS\System32\kpcjg.dll<<<<File
C:\WINDOWS\System32\mcc.exe<<<<File

Reboot, then post a fresh logfile so that I can check to see if it is clean.

Hi there,

Apart from the optional fixes I take it that you have decided to keep, your log is now clean.
To help keep it that way do this,

To provide future protection - I would advise you to download and install:

SpywareBlaster will block bad ActiveX and malevolent cookies. Download from Here

IE-SPYAD puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone, if you use IE, so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all. Download
Here

Both are very small free programs that you run once, and then just weekly to check for updates.

And also see
So how did I get infected in the first place?
