I have installed Ad-Aware and have used it to remove most of the spyware on my computer, however there seem to be a few more stubborn files that I can't remove (and don't want to remove anything legit accidently...)

Here is my HJT log file...any recommendations as to what to fix would be greatly appreciated..... (I haave manually deleted and marked other files for fixing that I found through google to be spy/ad ware....)

hello

We have some work to do

1. First things first, Hijack This should be saved in its own directory
Create a new folder in C:\program files and name it Hijack or something recognizable. Then cut and paste hijack this and your hijack logs into the said folder.

2. You have the peper trojan. Download the uninstaller. When running it be sure to let it have internet access through any software firewalls you may have.

Download Peper Uninstaller from here and save it - http://members.shaw....ts/PeperFix.exe
Double click on PeperFix.exe, let it run and terminate. (You must be online for the uninstall to be successful).

Run it again for good measure.

3. Update your Mcaffee Antivirus reference file and run it again. Have it repair or quarantine any infected files it discovered.

4.Update and run adaware
For instructions, go to
http://forums.spywar...showtopic=11150

5.Install, update and run spybot
http://www.tomcoyote.org/SPYBOT

Reboot, run hijack this and post a new log here
Everything is inconsequential, from a cosmological perspective.

I followed all of your directions and althought the computer seems to be under control with no pop-ups, I wasn't able to fix the following:

FROM SPYBOT:

Teen Sex: Autorun settings (47MSJ2W3J7PQJE) (Registry value, fixing failed)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\47MSJ2W3J7PQJE

ADAWARE was fine with the exception of three tracking cookies which I deleted.

Also, out of curiosity - which entry in the previous HJT log file indicated the peper trojan????

My HJT log file now looks like:

Hello

The peper trojan was identified from this particular line in your first log =)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [47MSJ2W3J7PQJE] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\Cpj5Y.ex

A few final fixes

Run HijackThis again and place a check on the following entries and fix them

Enable viewing of hidden files
how to?
http://www.xtra.co.n...1916458,00.html

Go to windows explorer, look for this file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SRWXPAND.EXE and delete it if present

After that reboot and post a new (and hopefully the last =) ) hijack log here
