Hi i have done all the things asked read the FAQ and as you will see by my log i have tried just about every bit of spyware removal software on the market, including the ones you recomend but nothing works. They detect various files but they all reapear most of which do so without a reboot. I have even tried reading old posts but there are thousands and as of yet i have found nothing to relate to my infection

I am being sent to a search page even though i have blank in my ie homepage( the title of the page is just "search for...") . Also every time i open a new widow i get adverts for varius adware removal tools when you click one of the adds the search page it sends you to has the address "http://38115.ilxt.in...yware remover". Finally it disconnects my internet connection all the time.

This is my log file

I have merged your threads - please stick to this thread until your problem is resolved.

Click here to download FindnFix.exe (2K/XP only!) by freeatlast. Double-click on the FINDnFIX.exe and it will install a folder called FINDnFIX on your system. Go to that folder and double-click on !LOG!.bat. The program takes a few minutes to collect the necessary information. When done post the contents of Log.txt in this thread.

The list will produce a small database of files that will match certain criteria.
You must know how to ID the file based on the filters provided in
the scan, as not all the files flagged are bad.
Ex: read only files, s/h files, last modified date. size, etc.
The filters provided should help narrow down the list, and hopefully
pinpoint the culprit.
Along with that, registry scan logged at the end should match the
corresponding file(s) listed.
╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗╗
Unless the file match the entire criteria, it should not be pointed to remove!

In the keys1 folder, double click on FIX.bat. You will get an alert of about 15 seconds before reboot - allow it to reboot. On restart, open Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\System32 folder, find the D3DAJ.DLL file (it should be visible now). Highlight the file and using top menu, click Edit>Move to folder...

Select C:\Findnfix\junkxxx as destination. Move the file.

Open the FINDnFIX folder again and double-click on RESTORE.bat. When it is finished, in FINDnFIX folder, there will be a file called Log2.txt - post it's contents in your next reply.

Sorry one thing i dint add was the fact that the search engine it directs you to is http://oz.msie.tv/ even though the home page is blank. When it redirects you it is done behing java so you cant get any info with the right click. Sorry for posting again im not trying to be a pain just include every bit of info i can and i forgot that one.

Thanks Jon

Looks like you isolated the bad boy - open the FINDnFIX folder again and open the Files2 folder. Double-click on the ZIPZAP.bat. It will quickly clean the rest and will make a copy of the bad file(s) in the same folder (junkxxx.zip) and open your email client with instructions. Simply drag and drop the junkxxx.zip file from the folder into the mail message and submit to the specified addresses.

Please be sure to include a link to this thread in the body of your email. Reboot when done, then delete the entire FINDnFIX folder. Could you click here to download CWShredder by Merijn Bellekom and run it, hit 'fix' as opposed to 'scan only'. If you already have CWShredder, click 'Check for update' and make sure you are running version 1.59.1 Reboot when done. Rescan with HJT and post a new log in your next reply.

You still have some malware that needs to be removed.

First, click here, for instructions on how to enable hidden files and folders to be visible. After enabling, find, zip and send this file:

C:\PROGRA~1\HALFLE~1\HALFLE~1.DLL

to this e-mail address including a link to this thread in the body of the email. The file and folder names have been truncated, look for something beginning with HALFLE. It may be OK but I'd like to take a closer look at it - I'll get back to you about it if any further action is required.

Create a new folder called C:\HijackThis, move the HijackThis.exe file into the new folder and run it from there. This is necessary to ensure you have backups should anything go wrong.

Make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchAssistant = ,
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,CustomizeSearch = ,

Reboot into safe mode by tapping F8 after the BIOS has loaded, find and delete the following:

c:\program files\HaldexLtd\stnd567\565696750.exe

Reboot when done, rescan with HJT and post a new log here for a final check over.

OK, it's a searchhook file that redirects to halflemon.com. That's a new one for me - need to look into it further  . My guess is you don't particularly want it so, with only HJT running have it fix:

R3 - URLSearchHook: SearchHook Class - {D94AAA2A-C415-42E3-82B6-49FAB4EBFFE9} - C:\PROGRA~1\HALFLE~1\HALFLE~1.DLL

Reboot and that is the end of your ordeal ;)

To help keep you clean follow the recommendations in Tony's article here:

So how did I get infected in the first place?
