      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

Welcome to SWI Loganar

to be perfectly honest your log looks quite clean , the only thing I would suggest is uninstalling the P2P networking as P2P Networking is a totally useless Kazaa add-on, and it's been reported to be responsible for serious system slowdowns. it can be done from Add/Remove programs , I also would suggest an online virus scan at any of these sites

Computer Associates Virus Information Center - eTrust AV Web Scanner http://www3.ca.com/virusinfo/virusscan.aspx

Trend Micro - Free online virus Scan: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

RAV AntiVirus - Scan Online: http://www.rav.ro/scan/

also http://www.trojanhunter.com/ you can D/L the trial version to check for trojans.

what do you mean when you say your PC has a life of its own , can you be more specific about what it is doing?

Cheers GRUNTFUTTOCK, Mind of its own.

1. PC connects to Internet at start up.

2. Disconnects when i am on line for no reason.

3. I've got to maximise, even though i have draged the frame to the edge it

never stops there when i boot up again.

4. As i've said it freezes, i press ctrl+alt+del almost every day its annoying.

5. It takes about 4 to 7 min to boot up, also when i go to a site the word DONE

is in the bottom corner but it takes another minute or so to get the picture.

6. Sometimes when typing the letters do not appear, then they will its spadmodic.

7. 4 out 10 times 'this page cannot be displayed' comes on when trying to go to a

web page.

Thanks for your help loganar.

there is nothing in your log to suggest Malware

have you tried the scans I suggested?

1 . Are you on Dialup? , is anything like maybe your AV program set to phone home at startup? is anything in your Startup folder? ,

2 .if you connect to a phone line with an extension lead , try connecting without it , sometimes leads introduce line noise which can cause a slow conection or disconnects.

3. have you cleared your temp internet files? http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

how old is your installation of Win98 ?(when was the last reformat and installation?)

as Win98 can get a bit flaky when it gets old

hope some of this helps

EDIT -I see your running Zonealarm , does ZA say what program is attempting to connect to the internet ie:-what is initiating the dial up?, might also be worth trying another browser , see if the slowdown etc is general or on IE , try firefox in my sig below see if that makes a difference

Hi Loganar

just one last suggestion , clear all program permissions from ZA , it may be one of the programs that you have previously given permission to , if you clear them all maybe the offender will show up?

really cant think of anything else

best of luck

EDIT found this link may help with maximising windows
