i'm trying to remove a backdoor trojan. Norton identified it but it cannot seem to remove or quarantine or delete it. i believe it to be another coolwww thing cuz now i have the stupid spyware back on my computer. fortunately my homepage has not been hijacked. any assistance in removing this trojan would be greatly appreciated.

Please do this.
Download 'Hijack This!'. http://www.spywarein.../HijackThis.exe
Save it in a permanent folder such as C:\HJT\, double click HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log, Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents here. Most of what it lists will be harmless and quite essential to proper operation of you computer so don't fix anything yet.
