      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

HijackThis Log - mxTarget.dll, Twain-tech

2 posts in this topic

Hi all,

I would be really grateful if you could cast your eyes over the contents of my HijackThis log file.

I have tried a number of Spyware Removal products: SpyDoctor, AdAware, Spybot etc. but each time I remove the dangerous files, (usually mxTarget.dll or something from Twain-tech), they reappear after re-boot.

I've downloaded and installed HijackThis but am very reluctant to remove anything in case I kill my boss' computer! I've tried analysis the log file myself based on the sticky at the top of this forum but there were a couple of unfound entries.

Many thanks!

Fingers crossed, it seems to be all better now. Here's what I did:

Working from the instructions in the HijackThis Tutorial I had HijackThis fix the following entries:

O2 - BHO: E.HH - {9E992732-295F-4987-8BE3-16FAC1639198} –

C:\DOCUME~1\ALLUSE~1\APPLIC~1\IESERV~1\IEService.dll

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [mzclvzshmnnow] C:\Windows\System32\owfowh.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Adstartup] C:\Windows\System32\automove.exe

I downloaded and installed the LavaSoft Ad Aware VX2 Plugin.

Followed the instructions listed in the microsoft.public.security newsgroup to remove mxTarget.dll.

Just got to keep on top of things now with regular updates and scans.

Good luck all.
