I bought Spy Sweeper as you suggested. It cleans out everything, but all the spyware immediately returns! I have swept and swept and used cwshredder, etc. to no avail.

Any other suggestions? I am about to re-format this drive!

this may sound extreme but turn off system restore, and then run your spybot s&d and once all spyware, etc etc has been removed, then go to your disk clean-up and run and then go back and turn on system restore......then restart your system. Then run spybot again and see if this cleans your system.

I got your message too late!

I reformatted and upgraded to XP Pro. I have never seen such persistent adware/trojans before. It was a nightmare. I spent over 3 hours trying to clean this drive, then another 3 reformatting and reloading it.

In the future I will avoid the cleaning part and skip right to the reformat method.

What a horror this was for all concerned!

Thanks anyway for all your suggestions.
