I was messing around with the add/remove programs-add/remove windows components and I inadvertently deleted my volumn control (not just took it out of the tray, completely deleted it). How can I get it back? There isn't a checkbox that I can see in that add/remove windows components to get it back. What's it's filename? I should be able to find it on my WinXP disc.

filename is sndvol32.exe ...goes in windows/system32.

But are you sure you dont have like a restore point you can go back to or something?

I've tried restore with no luck. And I can't find sndvol32.exe on my WinXP pro disc. I'm getting kind of freaked out because the machine doesn't seem to be booting right now. I think Window Explorer is crashing when I boot.
