My other post got on to the 7th page where it may never be seen again and there is no option to delete posts. If there was I could have posted a bogus reply to move it back to page 1 and deleted the reply right away and still have it on page 1.

Anyway - I'd really appreciate your help.

I keep getting little blank, white popup boxes that have a caption ' -- Web Page Dialog'. Sometimes they disappear instantly after they are created and do nothing. Other times, they stay around and fire up new popups that actually have a picture in them. If I close the popup (with the picture) both it and the ' -- Web Page Dialog' will go away. The ' -- Web Page Dialog' boxes will come up even if my browser is closed. I don't know what to do or what adware program is launching them. I tried running Spybot S&D, AdAware, and SpySweeper, but none of them will get rid of it!

Here is my log. Please tell me what to do next.

Hi there,

Lets deal with this first;

Download this: http://www.downloads...g/VX2Finder.exe and run it

1-Click "Click To find Find VX2.Abetterinternet"

2-Delete all files found
You will get a message about "cannot delete this one" matching the same name in the Guardian Key.

3-Click "Open regedit" will take you right to the Guardian Key(no need to search for it)

4-Hilite "Guardian", RightClick and choose Security/permissions, you'll get another window with 'advanced'...
DE-select (uncheck) the lower box with "inheritable permissions"
Hit 'ok' and 'remove' on the following security prompts.

Restart computer.

5-On restart use VX2Finder again, select + delete the last file, click "User Agent$" will remove that entry from the registry.

6-Click "Open regedit" again, this time restoring the checkmark in "inheritable permissions"

7-Click "Guardian.reg" in VX2Finder Deletes the Guardian Key.

8-Use Find again should produce a clean log of blank values.

9-Click "Restore Policy" to restore the Debug policy altered in the look2Me installation.(requires reboot to apply, but not immediatley neccessary)

Rerun HijackThis and post it here.

I'm sorry about posting in other people's threads. I won't do it anymore. Anyway, VX2 Finder was not able to find anything, so it must be some other thing causing the 'Web Page Dialog' popups.

Since nothing has changed, you can use the original log

You are very welcome :wave:

I have added a note to my previous post in red, I forgot to hit paste!! the note regards the reason for that particular fix. It was an optional fix, I see you fixed it so that is to your benefit.

Ok your log is clean now, to keep it that way do this;

Your log is clean now, to help keep it that way do this:

To provide future protection - I would advise you to download and install:

SpywareBlaster will block bad ActiveX and malevolent cookies. Download from Here

IE-SPYAD puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone, if you use IE, so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all. Download
Here

Both are very small free programs that you run once, and then just weekly to check for updates.
