Hi people,

I just found this forum today in my search for an answer to my problem.

A friend's computer seems infected by some sort of strange spyware. I have never seen anything like this before.

symptoms :

When loading a page (all pages) , it loads correctly. When finished loading, the page blinks, and all links in/on it are changed, and loads of links are added leading to various commercial websites. (all words for examlpe HTML, windows etc. become links)

All pages effectively become useless.

Anyone know of this problem, or the name of the spyware program that is probably running? I can't find anything in the running processes list (winXP), AD-aware doesn't find anything.

Will try hijjack this soon, but have no access to the pc at the moment.

Thanks for any info,

kind regards,

Hans de Vries

Hello, sorry for the delay.

Let's have a look at a HijackThis Log.

If you don't already have HijackThis, Download HijackThis from http://www.downloads.../hijackthis.zip and create a log. Run the program, and press Scan. You will notice the Scan button will turn into a "Save Log" button. Save the log and Post that log onto this topic. DO NOT Delete or modify anything yet, as some of it is needed to keep your system in Good Shape.
