I found that Adaware has a new tool for removing the hard-to-remove CW2 malware/hijacker, or whatever it's called.
Go to Lavasoft and get the latest updates, then download and install the Plugin tool.
When you reboot and run your next scan, CW2 will be found and removed when you click the objects it found.
Good hunting.

Hi MagicFingers,

Do you have a link to that plug-in?? I looked for it and did not find it. ??? Also, are you using Ad-Aware Pro or the free version?

The only plug-ins I see for the free version are
HexDump
FileSpecs*
LSP Explorer
Messenger-Control
OE/W Messengerctrl
VX2 Cleaner

Right now, it looks like MagicFingers might have confused it with the VX2 cleaner plug-in. Just checked all three Lavasoft sites and no sign of plug-in for anything named CW2 (or CWS for that matter).

Still, you never know, do you?

It really helped me get rid of that nasty thing Friday.
